HI Greg,
I think the site looks very good and i see this being a valuable resource to cutting edge agents who are always going to be a step ahead of those agents who refuse to embrace technology, especially socail networks.
I look forward to reading the content.

Great site Greg. Very informative.
As an agent, if I wanted to start embracing the changes in technology, where would you suggest that I start?

Thanks Geoff, The first step is to think about how you can get the most leverage out of the internet.
One of the best places to start is via establishing a blog & posting articles of interest ( eg: relating to real estate or things happening within your service area ).
Geoff, your blog articles will remain on the web pretty much forever & each blog post adds to your site content. It can even form part of your company website & for a number of reasons it may be better for you that it does form part of your company website.
There are numerous ways that you can market a blog post throughout the web. In fact, over the next few days I’ll be uploading a blog post on GenYre based on this very subject.
But in the meantime, here’s a couple of ways that you can get your message out.
You can link to each article within your email marketing campaigns. It can then be shared throughout Social Networks & people can stumble across your blog posts when they are searching through Google & Bookmarking sites, etc.
Understanding how to leverage the power of the internet & learning how to build trust online are possibly the most important online marketing skills a real estate agent will need to embrace if they wish to move forward.
I hope this helps you

Thanks Greg. If I was to start by creating a blog, I notice that your site is run by WordPress is that who you would recommend or is there an easier one that I should look at using?

Geoff, I’m not the most tech savvy person when it comes to all the technical terminology & programming, etc but a lot of the major bloggers seem to lean more towards Worpress or Typepad blogs being hosted on their own domain name.
The design flexibility & the different plug-ins these sites have means that they are also very good when it comes to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) .
For starting out I’d suggest the free version of either WordPress or Blogger because you can be up & running with a free blog in no time & there are lots of great designs to choose from.
The most important part about setting up your blog is writing content about something that you are passionate about, because it will make it easier for you to stick at it.
And the 2nd thing I’d do is go & set up a twitter account if you haven’t already & whenever you write a blog post share it out to your followers on Twitter. This will help you to get lots more visitors to your site & will help you to keep going with your blog. (Tweeting about your blog posts is especially important in the first couple of months of starting a new blog.)

Great ideas. Being relevant is probably the most important aspect of your blog if you are serious about driving traffic to it. Also, accuracy will maintain your traffic.
